The process really is that simple. For most it’s beneficial to take the First-Time 16 hour CCW Training & Safety Course prior to applying, (Shooting required). Upon completion of the CCW Class you will get a certificate that is valid for 6 months. We will explain the application process from start to finish. Remember, you get what you pay for, and carrying a concealed weapon around your family, friends, and community should not be taken lightly. Some will complete the online application first before taking the CCW Class, which is totally fine. But, if you would rather learn how to apply and how the process works, then take the class first, then apply!!
You can get them from their website (NO MORE PAPER APPLICATIONS)
There are no more paper applications, all CCW applications must be done online or via the Sherriff's WEBSITE. Now it is very important to note that you must have a car registration, or a utility bill (gas, water, trash, electric bill, etc.) in your name, and a physical address (no po boxes). This is required to prove you are a Tulare County resident. All required documents must be uploaded on the online application. Upon completion of your application, you are required to pay online for the application initiation fee. Once your Application is complete you can make an appointment or walk in to either the Visalia or Porterville Location, and complete the live scan and photo. If you already completed the CCW Class then all you have to do is wait, if not, you will need the CCW Course Certificate prior to obtaining your CCW Permit.
